The commissioning of the new building imminently to the Municipal School of Music, which is being built on the River Segura Avenue, was the highlight of the speech of the Councillor for Education, Maria Trinidad Gómez Medina, at the official opening of the course 2009-2010 of the school this past weekend.
Medina Gomez also referred to the proper functioning of the school "because it has life and they say their teachers and students," said too.
Before the opening concert in the auditorium of the Cultural Center, the Mayor of Archena, Manuel Sánchez Marcos Cervantes, awarded the diplomas of students who took the course last year.
The end point of the act put on stage A'Kontratiempo Orchestra 'formed by students of the Escuela Municipal, whose director is Antonio Campuzano.
Performed works by Holst, Mancini, Weiss and Badelt, among others.
Municipal School of Music is currently made up of 360 students, 16 teachers and a variety of courses and learning tools.
It has been operating since 1996.
Its director is Maria Alcolea.
