The general director of Housing and Architecture in the Region of Murcia, Mark Nogueroles, accompanied by the mayor of Archena, Marcos Manuel Sanchez, today visited the works that the regional government through the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, has completed in the locality for the remodeling of the Garden of Providence.
The park, located on the Avenida de la Rose, has an area of 2,223 square meters and is the site of a major part of the social and cultural activities in the neighborhood of Providence, including the festivities, which the director generally considered "relevant to implement these comprehensive renovation of this important urban environment, which will provide improved aesthetic appearance, but also the functionality that offers residents and visitors to the town."
The refurbishment works have allowed the redevelopment of existing spaces by integrating both a children's play areas, and improve petanque.
In addition, the central area has provided a new granite paving slabs and cobbles, which allows placement of a stage for cultural activities outdoors.
This action has received a grant program of the Directorate General for recovery of environments and the remodeling of spaces that has helped finance 75 percent of the total cost.
In this connection, Nogueroles also recalled that "these works, as well as other rehabilitation activities have been initiated in different municipalities with funding from the regional executive, can boost the local economy and create jobs during their execution, so pose a double benefit for the town's inhabitants. "
Finally, the director general stressed the importance of public spaces are for social life, since its design can affect the integration of its inhabitants, while expressing the ability of organization, hospitality, culture, or the dynamic of a neighborhood.
