Win Archena Archena calls to join the network of refuge cities (04/09/2015)

AGREEMENTS

FIRST: The City of Murcia, declares its readiness to help and welcome as a city shelter to people fleeing war and persecution in their countries and seeking asylum in the European Union and to this end adopt the following measures:

1. Creation of a working group between the municipal social services, CEAR Spain, Red Cross and other local organizations working with refugees to define the measures to be adopted by the City Council, to accommodate refugees in the town.

2. Prepare a list of possible places of welcome, preferably municipal property, but also individuals or groups of our people.

3. Enable an economic base for municipal actions to adopt and to collaborate with organizations working in welcoming refugees.

SECOND: The City of Murcia, according to the proposal of CEAR (Spanish Commission for Refugee Aid) requires the European Union and its member, especially the Government of Spain, to put the appropriate measures in place following an urgent States detalldas in the motion.

THIRD: To communicate this agreement to the citizens of the municipality, CEAR, the Government of Spain, all the parliamentary groups of the Congress of Deputies and the European Commission.
