[López Miras: "The rehabilitation of the iron bridge in Archena is a historical milestone that will improve mobility and municipal heritage" (11/12/2020)

Regional budget of 1.2 million euros for the works on the bridge, which will have an execution period of eight months | The president of the Community, Fernando L pez Miras, remarked today that "the rehabilitation of the iron bridge of Archena that the regional government is going to undertake represents a historical milestone that will improve urban mobility and cultural heritage of this municipality ". During a visit to Archena accompanied by the mayor, Patricia Fern ndez, the head of the regional executive presented the investment of 1.2 million that will allow to restore and recondition this infrastructure "thus responding to a historical demand rica of the municipality to improve their displacements and the status of one of the jewels of their heritage ". The president highlighted the importance of this infrastructure that, since 1942, has provided access to Archena, linking two important avenues such as Carril and Mario Spre fico.

"The iron bridge is one of the symbols of Archena, with great cultural, economic and social relevance in the municipality, and is the main access to the old town from the A-30". The works will consist of the reinforcement of the structure and the foundation of the bridge, "as well as the repair and beautification of the entire complex," explained the regional president.

They will also include the lightening of the deck, the replacement of the road surface and the installation of a new street lighting, which will reinforce road safety in the area. Eight months of execution The term of execution of the works is eight months once the bidding process for the project concludes, which will begin in early 2021.
