The socialists ask to stop the demagoguery of the massive tests to bet on tourist quality with the "responsible tourism" (02/07/2020)

| They want the city council to commit to fulfilling the requirements to obtain the distinctive of the Ministry of Tourism that gives more security to the visitors | Socialists want the Archena City Council, through its tourism office, to request the "responsible tourism" badge from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism to attract national and international visitors in times of coronavirus.

For this they will have to put aside the strategy of "demagoguery and propaganda" of the mass tests and devote themselves to fulfilling the necessary requirements to be able to avoid COVID-19 infections. The badge is free, and only requires the commitment to follow the "Guidelines for the reduction of contagion by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in the tourism sector", prepared together with the sector, social partners and the Autonomous Communities and validated by Health, and which will be the reference for the creation of standards at a global level, after an agreement adopted within the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

An international guarantee mark that the socialists want Archena to have, but also each and every one of its tourist, hotel and cultural establishments through the consistory. The Archena socialists, furthermore, insist that the decision to carry out massive tests this summer on tourists, and now also on the employees of the countryside, does not respond to a sanitary solution, but rather to a propaganda strategy of the Popular government of the mayor, Patricia Fernández.

A measure that clashes with reports from the Spanish Society of Public Health, which has requested that "any populist initiative to do mass tests be blocked" because, they warn, is "unnecessary" and "may provide a false sense of calm and security that would lead to an increased risk of transmission.

" For the Municipal Spokesman of the PSOE, Gonzalo Caracena, "the objective cannot be other than to offer confidence and security, essential at the moment, to return to attract travelers to our municipality with resources with national and international support as is the case and not to fall in the easy, in the cheap propaganda.
