The simple data on the number of inhabitants of Archena (20,000) shows the insufficient number of masks provided by the Government of Spain.
Patricia Fernández has addressed, through a letter, the Delegate of the Government of the Region and the President of the Government of Spain to convey their discomfort and concern about such situation: "since the State of Alarm was decreed, the competence in matters of health belongs to the Government of the Nation. I only ask that they fulfill their duty ".
Given this situation of abandonment by the central government, the City of Archena, from the first moment, made a large investment in protection material, which together with donations from companies and individuals, made available to the local police, the center health and nursing home.
To conclude, the mayor of Archena reiterated her disapproval with the management of the Sánchez Castejón government: "unfortunately, as with DANA, we have already suffered its disastrous management in times of crisis. Hopefully, at least, it will take over of all the municipal expenses derived from the Covid-19, which should not be borne by all the archeneros, although I don't know if my hope will be very daring. "
This was explained by Patricia Fernández, with some resignation.
