The Mayor of Murcia, Patricia Fernandez, presented the Master Plan 'Archena Smart: Intelligent Thermal City', Sunday, November 29, at the Teatro Villa de Archena.

This event was also attended by the Minister of Economy, Tourism and Employment, Juan Hernandez, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, Manuel Marcos Sánchez, Mayors of other municipalities, councilors of Municipal Government and Municipal Archena Socialist Group and as the Director of the 'Incyde' Foundation and businessmen and economists from other parts of the Region.

The event was accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of Murcia UCAM.

This initiative consists of a master plan based on new technologies (ICT) and whose main objective is to make a smart Archena spa town.

The Mayor of Murcia explained that "with the new ICTs can be reached anywhere in the world and sell any product in the world and Archena Spa is an excellent product."

The 'Smart Archena' project will revolve around six main axes such as tourism and health, energy saving and mobility, trade, sustainability, good governance and transparency and joint venture and the Spa for the empowerment of all tourism, as the municipality of Archena is recording a rising tourism occupation of 71% since last year.

The mayor has emphasized that: "Talking about tourism in Murcia is to focus on wellness," so this project seeks to exploit this tourism to the fullest with a mobility plan that will get the tourist is even more access to areas and facilities in the municipality.

With this work, we intend to invest in R & D, entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial drive of the town.

This project has been praised by the Regional Government for its good governance and for creating this project so new, the characteristics "are pioneers in Spain."

Meanwhile, Patricia Fernandez has said that "Archena is the first Spanish town in applying transparency and the Code of Good Governance, a key objective in this plan 'Archena Smart', whose philosophy will be to open a government, believing Administration transparency and listening to citizens. To achieve these objectives in the field of transparency the City Council conduct a Code of Good Governance and Transparency Portal, among other actions. "

Construction Business Incubator (ladillo)

One of the cornerstones of this project is the implementation of the Enterprise Incubator, which began last month.

The Business Incubator will accommodate all Archena entrepreneurs to conduct and develop their businesses and business projects.

Through the agreement signed between the city of Murcia, Murcia Chamber of Commerce, Incyde Foundation and Ministry of Industry and Tourism, the initiative will cost 350,000 euros, of which 80 percent will be provided by the Foundation Incyde 20 percent of public capital.

The scope of this "Business Incubator" is increasingly contribute to the decline in youth unemployment, facilitating access to the labor market for these entrepreneurs, so they do not have to look for work outside the region and even Spain.

So the City has signed a framework agreement with the Foundation to convert Archena Incyde "a Smart & Sustainable City".

For this, the municipality will receive a large cash prize at an early stage.

In this new project they are involved the Ministries of Tourism and Commerce, the Regional Government and of course, the City of Murcia, who is leading this pioneering project.

With the setting up of this project it is to make a reference Archena as smart and sustainable city using the latest in new technologies.

INFO collaborate with the City (ladillo)

The Development Agency of Murcia (INFO) will work with the City of Murcia for the implementation in the municipality of that business incubator aimed at young entrepreneurs, an initiative that was agreed at a meeting between the Director of INFO, Javier Celdrán, and the Mayor of Murcia, Patricia Fernandez.

The meeting agreed to other measures to boost local and regional economic development, such as conducting a workshop on entrepreneurship in which the keys are explained for a business project, the development of innovative ideas, the feasibility study or access different ways of financing.

INFO director stressed that the business incubator of Archena "will be specially designed to support, services and advice to those young people of the town you want to start a business and allow them to benefit from a working space at low cost and with all services needed to start business, besides enjoying a collaborative environment in which to exchange ideas and experiences with other entrepreneurs. "

Celdrán considered that "the ultimate goal is to reduce the rate of youth unemployment."

The INFO, as coordinator of the Regional Incubator Network and promoter of local development, will provide assistance and advice to determine the most appropriate services to boost industrial activity in the town and orient new businesses such as design prototyping, promotion of businesses or assisting in the processes of innovation and technological development.

This new infrastructure, whose construction began this summer, will house a total of 20 innovative companies related to medicine and sport, since the objective is to exploit the proximity of the Spa of Archena to create synergies in a collaborative environment.
