Via Crucis The Ash Wednesday opens Lent and with it the acts of the City Council of Guilds Higher Archena (23/02/2012)

The City Council of Guilds Archena Superior has begun its program of religious events a year that will culminate with the Easter processions.

Yesterday, Wednesday, at 6.30 am took place the traditional Via Crucis of ash on the streets of Murcia, with a cold temperature of about 3 degrees, but with the heat of the fervor of a hundred faithful who have accompanied the Christ of Mercy praying each of the stations of the Via Crucis.

At the end at St John the Baptist was held the imposition of ashes and the celebration of mass.

Next Sunday will take place on 26 at 7 pm, also at St John the Baptist in this town, the official presentation Poster Archena Easter 2012.

This year the star image of this poster will be to Mary Magdalene, belonging to the Confraternity of the Holy Christ of Agony and Maria Magdalena.

At the ceremony speakers include the president of the Cabildo Guilds Higher Murcia, Juan Pio Abenza the Nazarene of the Year honor this year went to the figure of Beatrice Guillamón (president of the Confraternity of the Holy Christ of Agony and Mary Magdalene) and the Mayor of Murcia, Patricia Lopez.
