The Community invests 128,000 euros in the construction of a deck in the sports court of the school Emilio Candel de Archena (24/04/2017)

The action is part of the 'Plan + Infrastructures', which contemplates an investment close to 20 million this year to continue improving schools

The Ministry of Education and Universities is bidding for the construction of a new deck on the sports grounds of CEIP Emilio Candel de Archena in which it invests 128,179 euros.

The Minister of Education and Universities, Maria Isabel Sánchez-Mora, visited the town today and held a working day with the mayor, Patricia Fernández.

Sánchez-Mora explained that the purpose is "to continue optimizing the infrastructures of the schools of the Region" and, in this sense, added that from the Ministry "we work and invest to improve educational facilities in all municipalities."

The works will begin this summer and have a term of execution of two months.

The actions will mainly consist of the execution of a metallic structure of galvanized steel to cover the sports track, which has dimensions of 35.3 by 20.4 meters.

The track has a rectangular configuration with an area of ​​836 square meters.

The roof will be built in isolation on the school grounds, where other outdoor courts and the courtyard of the school are located.

The projected building consists of a gable roof without enclosure and a single plant with free height of 7 meters.

Sánchez-Mora explained that "this is a new action that we developed in Archena where we have been improving educational centers considerably."

As an example, Sánchez-mora recalled that this course has opened in this municipality the new school for children and primary education Miguel Medina, which invested three million euros. "

Strategy '+ Infrastructures'

Through the '+ Infrastructure' Strategy, the Ministry works on the revision and reform of educational infrastructures to detect the main needs of the centers.

Thus, the Community plans to invest some € 20 million this year "in order to have more comfortable schools and institutes for teacher education and student learning," said Sánchez-Mora, who stressed that "the regional government is pushing everything The year actions to improve infrastructure ".

In particular, new centers will be built, such as the Sacred Heart of Librilla and Prince Felipe de Jumilla schools, and Pascual Pérez Abellán de Pliego will be expanded, among others.

Also will proceed to the complete remodeling of the institutes Alfonso X and Miguel de Cervantes de Murcia and Sanje de Alcantarilla.
