Several hundred people from the neighborhood of La Providencia de Archena wrapped their patron, the Virgin of Carmen, at the solemn mass celebrated in the main square of the neighborhood and officiated by the parish priest of the Corpus of Archena, Israel López.
They were chaired by the First Lieutenant of the Mayor of Archena and acting mayor, Andrés Luna, and the mayor of Villanueva del Segura Jesús Viciana, and they were accompanied by the archeneras councilors Mari Carmen Alcolea and Ángela Gómez, as well as other councilors of Villanueva and the PSOE de Archena
The Juvenile Majos and the Majas Infantiles of the Patron Saint Festivities of this archenero district made the floral offering to the Virgen del Carmen, after the rocieros chants of the Brotherhood of the Virgen del Rocío de Villanueva.
The councilors Alcolea and Gomez were also those who made the readings of the mass and later presided along with the parish priest Israel the procession of the Patroness through the streets and central squares of the neighborhood of La Providencia, belonging one part to Archena and the other to municipality of Villanueva.
A castle of fireworks and a popular verbena put an end to these festivities patron saint of Carmen.
